On a Visit to the State Archives of the Brest Region by Students of Brest Gymnasium No.5

On February 13, 2026, 10th-grade students from Brest Gymnasium No.5 visited the State Archives of the Brest Region.

Staff from the Document Use and Publication Department introduced the students to the history of the State Archives of the Brest Region and described the archive’s documents, including those on the history of the Great Patriotic War. The lecture utilized documentary materials posted in the «Investigation of the Criminal Case of Genocide» section of the website of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Belarus.

The students were then shown the film «On the 80th Anniversary of the Liberation of Brest from Nazi Invaders», produced by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents.

The students also took a tour of the archive, including a visit to the archive storage facility and the laboratory for the repair and restoration of archival documents.
