Joint Videoconference Held by the State Archives of the Mogilev Region and the State Archives of the Astrakhan Region
On February 13, 2026, the State Archives of the Mogilev Region and the State Archives of the Astrakhan Region (Russian Federation) held a regular meeting via videoconference. The meeting was planned as part of the implementation of the Memorandum on the Establishment of Sister City Relations between the Municipality of the City of Astrakhan and the City of Mogilev, as well as in accordance with the Cooperation Agreement between the Archives of the Two Cities signed on January 20, 2026.
The meeting focused on ensuring the preservation of archival documents and the acquisition of archival collections. In her opening remarks, Lyudmila Tsalabanova, Deputy Director and Chief Curator of the State Archives of the Mogilev Region, described the methodological materials related to the topic of the videoconference. Alexey Shakarov, Head of the Archival Document Digitization Sector, discussed the specifics of creating digital copies and prospects for further development in this area. Victoria Smozhenkova, Head of the Document Preservation Department, and Olga Klebcha, Lead Archivist in the Document Preservation Department, shared their experience in creating favorable conditions for document storage and organizing archival collection records. Natalya Kravtsova, Head of the Archival Collection and Records Management Department, addressed the acquisition of archival collections, personal collections, and the organization and transfer of electronic documents to the AED Information System.
Russian archivists discussed the specifics of their work and plans for improvement. During the meeting, colleagues exchanged experiences in implementing modern technologies for preserving and accounting for archival collections, identifying and accepting documents for state storage and personal documents, collaborating on creating electronic inventories and working with acquisition sources, conducting joint consultations, seminars, and webinars, and preparing proposals for exchanging copies of documents reflecting the shared history of regional development.
