A lesson on searching for information in archival documents for students of the Mogilev State Gymnasium-College of Arts named after Evgeny Glebov

On February 9, 2026, the State Archives of the Mogilev Region held a lesson on searching for information in archival documents for students of the Mogilev State Gymnasium-College of Arts named after Evgeny Glebov as part of the «Young Archivist» pilot project.

The students searched for materials to prepare a calendar of significant and memorable dates in the history of the city of Mogilev «My Mogilev – My History». The calendar is being developed with the participation of city educational institutions with the aim of popularizing the history of their hometown among young people.

Under the guidance of archivists, the students searched for information using various means: the archive’s scientific reference system, calendars of significant and memorable dates, the open access system for documents of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus, reference books, and periodicals. As a result of the collaborative work of students and archive staff, the necessary information was successfully found.

The archive visit was not limited to search work; the students also took a tour of the archive storage facility, the laboratory, and the banner exhibition.

This event allowed the students to practice archival search methods and learn new facts about the history of Mogilev.
