Opening of the Documentary Exhibition «Women of Belarus – Bright Fates»

On February 3, 2026, an extended meeting of the Board of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus was held. The meeting summarized the work of the Belarusian archival sector in 2025 and identified objectives for 2026.

As part of this event, the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus (hereinafter NARB) presented the documentary exhibition «Women of Belarus – Bright Fates».

Belarusian history knows many outstanding women who have left their unique mark on the earth. Along with representatives of the stronger sex, they influenced the course of historical events, defended the Motherland during the difficult years of the Great Patriotic War, and participated in the development of science, culture, and education in the BSSR.

The exhibition features archival documents for the first time: work plans of the women’s section of the Central Committee of the MOPR; reference data on the number of women in the Communist Party (bolsheviks) of Belarus; Minutes of the opening of the 2nd All-Belarusian Congress of Peasant Women and the 1st Congress of Jewish Peasant Women; materials on the status of women’s work in the agricultural forestry and industry unions of the Supreme Council of the National Economy; a questionnaire surveying enterprises to study and improve women’s working conditions; award certificates and personal files of women Heroes of the Soviet Union; decrees awarding and conferring honorary titles on women; photographs and posters.

Belarusian women today are a combination of compassion and wisdom, highly professional and committed to the development of the country.
