Publication of a collection of documents from the Rechitsa Zonal State Archives

April 26, 2026, marks the 40th anniversary of the worst man-made disaster in human history – the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant accident. In anticipation of this date, staff at the Rechitsa Zonal State Archives compiled and published a collection of documents, «Life After Chernobyl: From Archival Documents to Memories», based on the documents stored there. The publication covers the first ten years after the Chernobyl accident and reflects on the development of the territories affected by radioactive contamination, as well as the efforts to eliminate the consequences and commemorate the accident there.
