The Zonal Archive in Polotsk introduces students to the basics of office work and archival documents

On January 29, 2026, the Zonal Archive in Polotsk hosted an event for first-year students majoring in Law at the Polotsk State College of Economics as part of the national «Archives for School» campaign.

Irina Alekseyevna Mazepina, Head of the Department of Archival Formation, held a workshop on «Basics of Office Work». The workshop covered current archival regulations, with a focus on recent changes to office work instructions. Issues related to the archive’s interaction with various organizations were also discussed.

Marina Mikhaylovna Dichkevich, Head of the Department of Document Use and Publication, held an informational hour entitled «Dedicated to the Victims of the Holocaust». Students learned about the tragedy of the Holocaust and the brutality of the extermination of the Jewish people. They were presented with the recollections of witnesses and prisoners of the atrocities committed in Polotsk and the Polotsk region. A video entitled «The Holocaust and the Reckoning for Genocide» from the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents was also shown.

Following the event, the students were given a tour of the archive, focusing on documents related to their institution.
