On a Remembrance Lesson Dedicated to International Holocaust Remembrance Day

On January 28, 2026, as part of the «Archives for Schools» campaign, a representative of the Zonal State Archives in Mozyr visited Mozyr Secondary School No.8 named after Hero of the Soviet Union M.M.Kataev. A remembrance lesson, «It’s Scary to Remember, Yet Impossible to Forget», was held for 8th-grade students dedicated to International Holocaust Remembrance Day. The main goal of this event was to convey to the younger generation the idea that modern people should not only remember the horrors of those years but also become tolerant of others, regardless of race, nationality, religion, or other differences, so that the events that claimed the lives of millions of people are not repeated.

Students were presented with archival documents from the Polesie Extraordinary Commission for the Investigation of Atrocities Committed by Nazi Invaders During the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 in the City of Mozyr and the Mozyr District.
