About the Holocaust in Ryasno, Dribin District
As part of the «Little-known documents of the Great Patriotic War» section and International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Mogilev Region State Archives presents a copy of the testimony of Grigory Yakovlevich Rybakov, dated November 5, 1944, regarding the destruction of the ghetto in Ryasno, Dribin District, by Nazi invaders.
The Jewish ghetto in Ryasno existed from the summer of 1941 until March 3, 1942.
A total of approximately 600 Jewish residents fell victim to the Nazis. On the day of the ghetto’s liquidation, all Jews were brought to the square in the center of the town and surrounded by a punitive detachment of 30-40 men. Civilians were shot and buried 1.5 kilometers from the village in the Lisiy Log (Krumoly) ravine.
