«Native in Documents»: The Molodechno Archive Joins the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade’s Initiative

The Molodechno Zonal State Archive is launching an online historical facts challenge as part of the «Every Friday – Native, Our Own!» initiative of the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus.

The goal of the challenge is to demonstrate that archival documents can be a source of inspiration and pride for one’s homeland. On one Friday each month, the archive will share discoveries from its collections: documents, photographs, and newspaper articles reflecting the history of local producers and artisans, Belarusian music, theater, literature, and much more.

The first challenge article is dedicated to the «Molodechno Cake». Archival documents reveal that this confection, produced at a local bakery, was awarded a quality seal in 1976. This demonstrates the high production standards and recipe stability, as well as the fact that this beloved holiday treat of Molodechno residents has received official recognition at the state level.

Today, when tradition blends with innovation, the Molodechno Bakery continues to uphold its mark of quality, and archival documents remind us: the history of our homeland always lives close by.
