On the Participation of a Brest Region State Archives Employee in the Open Dialogue «Genocide: Memory and Prevention»
On December 9, 2025, an open dialogue «Genocide: Memory and Prevention» was held at the Domachevo Secondary School in the Brest District of the Brest Region. It was timed to coincide with the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Crime of Genocide. The event addressed the topic of preserving historical memory and preventing the recurrence of such tragedies. Presentations were given by P.I.Volynets, Deputy Chairman of the Brest District Executive Committee, and M.E.Tarasyuk, Deputy Prosecutor of the Brest District.
Students from secondary schools in the town of Domachevo and the villages of Znamenka, Tomashovka, and Medno participated in the event.
The Brest Region State Archives provided a documentary exhibition, «There Was a War… There Was a Victory!», for the event. At the conclusion of the event, Category I archivist O.V.Sukharevich held a substantive discussion with the schoolchildren on the exhibition’s theme.
