A Remembrance Lesson at the Gomel Region Public Associations Archives on the Eve of Gomel Liberation Day

On November 25, 2025, a remembrance lesson was held at the State Archives of Public Associations of the Gomel Region, dedicated to Gomel Liberation Day.

Students of the Gomel State College of Consumer Services were reminded of the history of Gomel’s liberation from Nazi invaders. They studied the personal files of members of the Gomel People’s Militia Regiment, the memoirs of World War II veterans who participated in the defense of Gomel, and the personal files of Heroes of the Soviet Union.

As part of the meeting, archivists organized a screening of the documentary film «Liberation», produced by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Belarus’s liberation from Nazi invaders. The event concluded with a presentation of the archival documents exhibition «Witnesses of History», dedicated to the liberation of Gomel from Nazi invaders, and a tour of the archives.
