BGAMLI staff immersed themselves in «Van Gogh’s Dreams»
On September 25, 2025, staff from the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BGAMLI) visited the new exhibition project «Van Gogh’s Dreams» by their partner, the National Center for Contemporary Arts, and the Farba Gallery.
The exhibition, which took three years to prepare, brought together in one space everything that, like Van Gogh’s works, transcends the usual boundaries of perception: thematic paintings by over 60 Belarusian artists, memes, pop art works, numerous installations (such as Frida Kahlo’s spine assembled from multicolored paper and glass), unexpected objects of olfactory art, and a separate recreated Japanese area featuring prints provided by the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Belarus (Japan and Japanese art always inspired Van Gogh). The most unusual surprise was the viewing of an immersive film featuring live actors reading Van Gogh’s letters and diaries, and several projections of the artist’s works.
Thanks to the exhibition’s utterly magical atmosphere, BGAMLI staff not only saw but immersed themselves in «Van Gogh’s Dreams».
