Gomel Regional Archives Participated in the Presentation of the Online Platform «DOC-Center «Topography of Memory»

On September 18, 2025, representatives of the State Archives of Public Associations of the Gomel Region and the State Archives of the Gomel Region participated in the presentation of the online platform «DOC-Center «Topography of Memory»«, which was held at the Gomel Regional Scientific and Technical Library.

The online resource was created by the Workshop of Innovative Technologies to perpetuate the memory of civilians of the Gomel Region who suffered at the hands of Nazi criminals during World War II, to foster a culture of memory in the region, and to understand, study, and interpret the events of wartime through human experiences.

The presentation included presentations by representatives of the war generation and former underage prisoners of concentration camps. Rare archival materials were presented, recounting the tragic events in the region’s history.

The State Archives of Public Associations of the Gomel Region acted as a partner in this project. Archival staff have identified a set of documents on this topic, digital copies of which are posted on the online platform. The project also features documents from other archival institutions in the region.
