On September 12, 2025, employees of the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BGAMLI) attended the opening of the exhibition «Would you like to visit me with a warm welcome?», dedicated by the Yanka Kupala State Literary Museum to the National Unity Day. The documents and historical monuments related to the life of Western Belarus presented at the exhibition, brought to Minsk by the Gantsevichi District Museum of Local History and the Mosty State Museum «Forest and Man», attracted the close attention of archivists.
The BGAMLI funds are rich in documentary heritage of creators – natives of the Grodno, Brest, as well as parts of the Minsk and Vitebsk regions that became part of the BSSR on September 17, 1939. New documents for archivists (photo telegram of the manuscript of Yanka Kupala, memoirs of the participants of the People’s Assembly of Western Belarus, photographs of deputies of the Supreme Council of the BSSR from Western Belarus, evidence of Yanka Kupala’s participation in the election campaign, etc.) help specialists in studying this significant period in the history and culture of the country.
During the event, archivists once again joined the traditional museum action «Reading Kupala Together», reading Yanka Kupala’s poems from this year’s anniversary collection «Beznazounaya» (1925), published on the pages of the Western Belarusian press.
