On the participation of the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents» in the Festival of Science
On September 6, 2025, employees of the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents» (hereinafter referred to as BGAKFFD) took part in the event «Festival of Science», which was held in the format of an intellectual and entertainment program in the Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (hereinafter referred to as NAS RB).
Higher educational institutions, museums, archives, laboratories, research institutes, scientific and industrial and other organizations of both the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation take part in this festival.
The BGAKFFD exposition was located in the Botanical Garden in the «Science Laboratory» section, where samples of film, photo and video document media, photo albums from the collections of N.S.Tagrin and V.I.Kaleda about pre-revolutionary Minsk, stands about the history of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus, and samples of film and photo equipment were presented.
The workers of the document restoration laboratory demonstrated to visitors various types of work with documents on a film carrier using gluing devices and adhesive compositions.
In the «Taste of Science» section, BGAKFFD workers selected and presented film documents dedicated to the preparation and consumption of food products. The earliest of them are the film plots «Baking flour products at the Minsk bakery», 1935 and «Pasteurization of milk at the Minsk dairy plant», 1936. This film selection was demonstrated jointly with the Belarusian Agricultural Library named after I.S.Lupinovich of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
