On the participation of an employee of the institution «State Archives of the Mogilev Region» in the international scientific and practical conference «Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief in Mogilev: war, revolution and collapse of the empire»

On September 4-5, the cultural institution «Mogilev Regional Museum of Local History named after E.R. Romanov» is hosting the international scientific and practical conference «Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief in Mogilev: war, revolution and collapse of the empire», which is dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the relocation of Headquarters to the city of Mogilev and the change of command of the active army and navy of the Russian Empire.

The participants included university professors, research staff of museums and archives of Russia and Belarus. Among them was the leading archivist of the Department of Scientific Use of Documents and Information of the State Archives of the Mogilev Region, Alexander Petukhov, who gave a report on the topic of «Headquarters in Mogilev and the Reorganization of Archival Affairs in the Mogilev Province in 1918-1919».

During a fruitful exchange of opinions, those gathered supported the organizers’ initiative to hold the conference regularly.

The conference participants warmly welcomed the decision of the urban development commission of the Mogilev City Executive Committee to approve the concept for the construction of a new museum dedicated to the location of Headquarters in the city of Mogilev. It is planned to place the future museum in a part of Gorky Park around the Church of the Holy Royal Martyrs, forming a single architectural ensemble with it.

At the end of the event, a reference book on the personal funds of the State Archives of the Mogilev Region was presented to the museum employees as a gift.
