Virtual exhibition «Document and Romance» dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Pyotr Glebka’s birth
The Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BGAMLI) has prepared a virtual documentary exhibition dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of the poet, publicist, and scientist Pyotr Glebka (1905-1969) – «Document and Romance».
BGAMLI does not have Pyotr Glebka’s personal collection. Most of the documents and museum items related to his personality are stored in the recreated memorial office of P.F.Glebka in the Central Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The archive-museum preserves the memory of the outstanding poet in documents from the funds of many cultural figures: Ya. Kolas, M. Lynkov, M. Klimkovich, M. Luzhanin, S. Shushkevich, E. Sadovsky, R. Nekhai, A. Adamovich, R. Mlodek, I. Shamyakin, E. Los, G. Buravkin, A. Volsky and many others. The name of the virtual documentary exhibition dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the poet was suggested by B. Guk’s article about P. Glebka «Document and Romance» (1974), from the funds of the BGAMLI. Developing the idea, the authors of the exhibition draw attention to the fact that in the documents Pyotr Glebka appears in different guises: as a famous poet, academician, laureate, deputy, and famous and honorary citizen. Researchers are working fruitfully with this evidence. It is important that in the archival document we see Pyotr Fyodorovich Glebka as a living person – a romantic, an inspired poet, a reliable friend, and a sincere devotee of Belarusian culture.
