Anniversary names and pride of Molodechno region: archivists have prepared a stand exhibition about outstanding fellow countrymen

A documentary exhibition dedicated to iconic personalities of the Molodechno region has opened in the Zonal State Archive in Molodechno.The exposition is dedicated to the anniversaries of the birth of three outstanding fellow countrymen, whose names are forever inscribed in the history of the region: Stepan Timofeevich Demeshko, Tamara Nikolaevna Dudko and Vladimir Mikhailovich Kalachik.

Stepan Timofeevich Demeshko is a teacher, a talented organizer, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, a school principal, respected and loved by all students, parents and colleagues, an honorary citizen of the city of Molodechno.

Demeshko Stepan Timofeevich was a member of various commissions on public education, author of articles, and spoke at conferences. The archive contains not only his works published in newspapers and magazines, but also manuscripts.

Tamara Nikolaevna Dudko’s professional and personal development is also connected with Molodechno. Tamara Nikolaevna had extensive production experience, exceptional organizational skills and managerial talent. In 1974, she was appointed director of the Molodechno brewery. In 1983, she became general director of the Minskbirgeprom production association. She was one of the founders of the Belarusian Women’s Union.

In 1992, T.N. Dudko became director of the Minsk brewery «Belarus», and during its privatization in 1994, she acquired a controlling stake and continued to manage Olivaria Brewery LLC. From January 1997 to January 2, 1999, T.N. Dudko was Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus of the 1st convocation.

Vladimir Mikhailovich Kalachik is a symbol of an entire era, a candidate of economic sciences, a talented agrarian and manager. In May 1957, the bureau of the RK LKSMB recommended Vladimir Mikhailovich for the post of chairman of the Svetly Put collective farm in the Molodechno district of the Molodechno region, where he worked until February 1988. During his leadership, the collective farm became one of the best.

By the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 30, 1966, Vladimir Mikhailovich was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor with the presentation of the Order of Lenin and the gold medal «Hammer and Sickle».

In 1969, he was elected a member of the Council and a member of the Presidium of the Union Council of Collective Farmers, and was also repeatedly elected as a deputy of the regional, district and village Councils.

In 2000, he was the first to be awarded the title of «Honorary Citizen of the Molodechno District».
