On July 28, 2025, as part of the republican campaign «Archives for School», the State Archives of the Vitebsk Region was visited by students of Secondary School No.28 of Vitebsk, who were in a summer educational and health school camp with a day stay
Memory lessons dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory and excursions around the archive were organized for the children.
During the Memory lessons, young visitors learned about the events that took place during the Great Patriotic War in Belarus and the participation of young heroes in them, and also watched the documentary film «History of the Great Victory», prepared by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents.
During the excursions, the children received answers to questions about why documents are stored, in what forms they are used, and what tasks modern archivists face. In one of the archive storage facilities, the children learned about the conditions necessary for storing archival documents and were able to see with their own eyes how these conditions are provided in the State Archives of the Vitebsk Region.
