The Zonal State Archive in Rechitsa presents a document on the acceptance of the Great Patriotic War monument in the urban settlement of Komarin, Bragin District
On September 23, 1943, the village (currently an urban-type settlement) of Komarin became the first settlement in Belarus to be liberated from the Nazi invaders during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. In memory of those events, by decision No.364-a of the Executive Committee of the Bragin District Council of Workers’ Deputies dated October 4, 1976 (F. 214. Op. 1. D. 757. L. 7), the «Banner» monument was erected here. It is a white bas-relief depicting Red Army soldiers, partisans, and underground fighters who took part in the liberation of Belarus. A black granite pedestal complements the composition.
