«An extraordinary creator!» – on the 75th anniversary of the birth of Alexey Onufrievich Dudarev, playwright, screenwriter, honored artist of the BSSR (photographic documents from the collections of the BGAKFFD dedicated to A.O.Dudarev)

June 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of the birth of the playwright, screenwriter, Honored Artist of the BSSR Alexey Onufrievich Dudarev.

In his works, A.O.Dudarev explored the moral, ethical, and spiritual problems of contemporary life, and also sought to reveal the origins of the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. He was the author of the plays «Threshold», «Privates», the author of the script for the films «Kupala Night», «White Dews» and «White Dews. Return», «Autumn Dreams», «Dnieper Line», «Brest Fortress» and others.

On the YouTube channel of BGAKFFD, for the 75th anniversary of the birth of the playwright, screenwriter, Honored Artist of the BSSR Alexey Onufrievich Dudarev, a promotional video for the exhibition «An Extraordinary Creator!» has been posted.

At present, the funds of the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents contain about 20 units of photographic documents from 1979 to 2012 and more than 30 units of film documents from 1984 to 2014 related to the work of A.O.Dudarev. Photo and film documents (stories from the newsreels «Savetskaya Belarus» for 1984 and 1986, chronicle material created during the 1995 theater awards ceremony at the Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater and the republican theater festivals «Maladzechanskaya Sakavitsa», the TV program «Arsenal», documentary videos «The Last Performance», 1998, «Nezatsyukany Apostal», 2010, «Valery Raevsky. Afterword..»., 2013) allow us to see A.O.Dudarev during rehearsals of performances, the presentation of theater prizes and awards, meetings with colleagues.

About A.O.Dudarev by director I.Pinigin in 2013 and 2014 the documentaries «Aleksey Dudarev. The Source of Time» and «Aleksey Dudarev. Film 2. The End of Time» were filmed, and in 2007 the TV show «Just a Program. Aleksey Dudarev» was released.

The work of A.O.Dudarev left a bright mark on the Belarusian theater arts and cinematography.
