Meeting with participants and teachers of the studio for preparing students for intellectual competitions and contests in the subjects «History of Belarus» and «World History» of the Minsk City Institute for Education Development in the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus
On June 17, 2025, as part of the «Archives for School» campaign, a meeting was held at the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus (hereinafter referred to as NARB) with participants and teachers of the studio for preparing students for intellectual competitions and contests in the subjects «History of Belarus» and «World History» of the Minsk City Institute for Education Development.
The director of NARB Andrei Konstantinovich Demyanyuk addressed the guests with a welcoming speech.
The head of the department of personal origin funds Inessa Vladimirovna Dorogush conducted a tour of the archive, spoke about its history, composition and features of storing documents, about the work of the archive in the field of publication and exhibition activities, as well as about the possibility of using archival documents in writing competitive research papers and in preparing projects using artificial intelligence.
As part of the events held by the archive for the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, a screening of the documentary film «The History of the Great Victory» prepared by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents and the NARB video project «We Remember..». was organized for students and teachers, as well as a presentation of documents about partisans – Heroes of the Soviet Union. I.V. Dorogush also held a conversation on the history of the partisan movement and familiarized with the personal files of the command staff of partisan detachments and brigades, award sheets, photographs and other documents. The guests visited the archive of personal origin funds, where they got acquainted with documents from the personal archives of state, party and public figures, participants in the Great Patriotic War. During the excursion, the students actively answered the questions of the archive workers’ quiz related to the history of Belarus. They were particularly interested in the photographs, which they were asked to use to identify historical events, name public and political figures, and recognize architectural buildings in Minsk. The most active participants in the quiz received memorable gifts.
