Events dedicated to the International Archives Week were held in the archive of public associations of the Gomel region

Events dedicated to the International Archives Week were held in the institution «State Archive of Public Associations of the Gomel Region».

Traditionally, various events and promotions were dedicated to the festive week. The festive week opened with a ceremonial meeting of the staff, where issues related to the activities of the archive at the present stage were discussed.

The director of the archive took part in the live broadcast of the information program «Open Studio» on the radio «Gomel Plus» 103.7 FM, which was dedicated to the International Archives Week.

In order to exchange experience with young archivists, practical transfer of professional knowledge, skills and abilities from the older to the younger generation, the archive held a Mentoring Day.

On the Open Day, students of the state educational institution «Gomel State College of Culinary Arts» visited the archive.

During the sightseeing tour, the children learned about the main functions and tasks of the archive, the composition and number of stored documents, visited the archive storage facilities and learned what conditions must be met to ensure the safety of documents.

During the visit to the archive reading room, the children were shown an exhibition of archival documents and photographs «And tomorrow was Victory…», and a screening of the documentary film «History of the Great Victory» was organized, prepared for the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents with the support of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus.

Also, the archive staff provided consultations to citizens by telephone on the location of archival documents.
