On the screening of the documentary film «Operation Bagration» by the staff of the institution «Zonal State Archive in Orsha»

On May 5, 2025, on the eve of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, in the assembly hall of the state educational institution «Secondary School No.1 of Dubrovno named after A.A.Nikandrova» for students of grades 9-11, the staff of the institution «Zonal State Archive in Orsha» organized a screening of the documentary film «Operation Bagration», prepared by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents.

The Belarusian offensive operation «Bagration», carried out from June 23 to August 29, 1944, was one of the largest operations of the Red Army during the Great Patriotic War, unmatched in scope and operational-strategic success. As a result of the successful operation, the entire territory of Belarus was liberated from the Nazi invaders.

Before the film was shown, the students were familiarized with the historical facts related to the preparation, beginning and conduct of the Belarusian operation «Bagration», which were filmed by military cameramen 80 years ago and reflected in the footage of the documentary newsreel. The viewers seemed to find themselves in that heroic time when the Nazi invaders were expelled from the Belarusian land by the Red Army.
