On holding a board meeting in the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus

April 30, 2025, a board meeting of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus was held. Deputy Minister of Justice Oleg Nikolaevich Kot took part in the board meeting.

The following issues were considered at the board meeting:

1. On the development of budget funds by state archival institutions in the first quarter of 2025.
2. Reports of the heads of state archival institutions on the progress of the preparation of publishing projects.

On the first issue, Deputy Head of the Department of Organizational and Analytical Work, Financing and Accounting T.A.Sukhanova presented a detailed analysis of the development of budget funds by state archival institutions for the first quarter of 2025.

The co-rapporteur on the issue was Head of the Department of Archives, Civil Registry Offices and Other Legal Issues of the Main Justice Department of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee A.Yu.Zabolotnaya, who reported on the priority tasks of strengthening the material and technical base in relation to the archives of the Grodno Region – the State Archive of the Grodno Region and the Zonal State Archive in Novogrudok.

Following the consideration of the first issue, it was instructed:

– directors of state archival institutions to ensure timely and full development of budget financing for planned activities of the second quarter of 2025;
– structural divisions for archives and records management of the main justice departments of the regional executive committees shall ensure control over the development of local budget funds by state archival institutions of the regions in the second quarter of 2025.

As part of the consideration of the second issue, it was noted that archival institutions published more than 26 collections (books) in 2024 – April 2025.

In the anniversary years, the main topics of publishing projects were books dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders and the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, as well as the genocide of the Belarusian people.

At the board meeting, reports were made by the director of the National Historical Archives of Belarus M.M.Glushakov and the deputy director of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus S.V.Kulinok.

The heads of archival institutions reported on the progress of the preparation of publishing projects within the framework of the series «Library of the Union State», «Partisan Archive», «History for Schoolchildren».

The Board noted the need for active participation of archival institutions in the preparation of the said publishing series, as well as planning the preparation of publishing projects for 2026.
