«Obelisks of the Great Feat»: Employees of the zonal state archive took part in a multi-format event on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War
The exhibition «Obelisks of the Great Feat» opened in the Molodechno District Cultural Center. This project, initiated by the publishing house «Belarus Today», is aimed at preserving the historical memory of the feat of the Soviet people in the fight against Nazism.
The organizers emphasize that the exhibition is designed to:
˗ Perpetuate the memory of the heroism and courage of soldiers and civilians who contributed to the Victory.
˗ Counteract the falsification of history by preserving reliable facts about the war.
˗ Engage young people in the study of history through modern formats, including interactive elements and multimedia technologies.
Belarus suffered enormous losses during the Great Patriotic War – every third resident of the republic died. Today, there are more than 9,000 war-related monuments and memorials in the country, including the famous Khatyn and Brest Hero Fortress complexes.
In addition to photographs and text information about the monuments and memorials, each stand has a QR code that can be used to view a video about each of the obelisks. The video and photo archive will continue to be replenished in the future.
The event in Molodechno ended with a concert featuring the ensemble «Songs of Our Circle».
The «Obelisks of the Great Feat» project will also be presented in other cities of Belarus, promoting patriotic education and strengthening historical truth.
