An event from the series «Getting to Know the Archive» in the Zonal State Archive in Polotsk

On April 22, 2025, an event from the series «Getting to Know the Archive» was held in the Zonal State Archive in Polotsk, held on the initiative of the Belarusian Society of Tour Guides and Guide-Interpreters from Polotsk.

Head of the Department of Use and Publication of Documents Dichkevich Marina Mikhailovna spoke about the main areas of the archive’s work, the composition of documents, and the features of storage and use. She demonstrated how a quick search for an archival document in archive storage facilities among hundreds of thousands of documents is ensured.

Head of the Department of Document Security and Preservation Olga Aleksandrovna Berezina acquainted the guests with one of the promising areas of the archive’s activity – document digitization.

Archist Semchenko Maria Olegovna held a master class on the restoration of archival documents.

During the sightseeing tour of the institution, archivists answered numerous questions from tour guides.

At the end of the event, a screening of the film «The History of the Great Victory» was organized for guests.
