On the holding of the thematic information hour by the staff of the institution «Zonal State Archives in Orsha» «Holy Memory of Days Past. Genocide of the Belarusian People during the Great Patriotic War»

On April 17, 2025, as part of the «Archives to School» campaign, as well as for the purposes of civic-patriotic, ideological education, in the state educational institution «Secondary School No.2 of Orsha named after B.L.Khigrin» with students of grades 6, 7 and 9, the leading archivist of the State Archives in Orsha, Yu.I.Gryadovka, held a thematic information hour «Holy Memory of Days Past. Genocide of the Belarusian People during the Great Patriotic War».

During this event, the children got acquainted with archival documents and photographs reflecting the policy of genocide of the Nazi invaders against the civilian population of Orsha and the Orsha district during the Great Patriotic War.

The culmination of the event was the screening of the documentary film «The History of the Great Victory», created by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents with the support of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus for the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.
