Sightseeing tour for students of the state educational institution «Mogilev Regional Cadet School named after Hero of the Soviet Union Evgeny Nikolayenko» in the institution «State Archives of the Mogilev Region»

As part of the republican campaign «Archives for School» and on the eve of Victory Day on April 15, 2025, a sightseeing tour was held at the institution «State Archives of the Mogilev Region» for students of the state educational institution «Mogilev Regional Cadet School named after Hero of the Soviet Union Evgeny Nikolayenko».

During the event, the cadets visited the archive storage, where they got acquainted with the features of storing documents, visited the laboratory for digitizing documents, and the reading room of the archive. The archive staff introduced the students to the features of the work of archivists, the specifics of the documents stored in the archive.

Future defenders of the Fatherland were also presented with a banner exhibition «Again, let’s look closer to the past», dedicated to the events of the Great Patriotic War and the post-war restoration of the city of Mogilev.

An important moment of the excursion was the discussion of the events of the Great Patriotic War in the Mogilev region, which are of key importance in the formation of a young patriot and citizen.

At the end of the event, a documentary film «History of the Great Victory» was shown in the assembly hall of the archive, prepared by the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents» with the participation of the Department of Archives and Records Management, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders and the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.
