On holding an event for students of the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University at the State Archives of the Gomel Region

On April 4, 2025, a lecture was held at the State Archives of the Gomel Region for 4th-year students of the Faculty of Law of the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University.

The head of the department of office work, formation of the NAF and archives of organizations, Tatyana Khinevich, told the students about archival activities, document flow, storage and practical application of various documents. She explained the processes of archival work – acquisition, use and accounting of archival documentation. Tatyana Khinevich spoke about the founders of the State Archives of the Gomel Region.

In the reading room of the archive, the students got acquainted with the current exhibition dedicated to the documents of the Great Patriotic War about the mass deportation of Soviet youth into German slavery. Senior researcher Maya Vashchenko spoke about the documents contained in the archive fund of filtration files. She showed the filtration files of Soviet citizens driven away for forced labor in Germany. Students were given the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the personal documents of citizens issued by German authorities.

Head of the Department of Records and Preservation of Documents Svetlana Primakova conducted an introductory tour of the archive, where she told the students about the features of storing documents.
