Conducting lessons for students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.16 named after A. Sukhombaev of Grodno» as part of the «Archives to School» campaign at the «State Archives of the Grodno Region» institution

On April 2, 2025, as part of the «Archives to School» campaign, the «State Archives of the Grodno Region» institution conducted 2 lessons on the topics «State Archives of the Grodno Region: History and Modernity» and «Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Grodno Region» for 9th-grade students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.16 named after A.Sukhombaev of Grodno».

The archive staff introduced the students to a brief history of archival work in the region, told them about the main areas of the archive’s work and the sources of its acquisition, and also demonstrated the most interesting and valuable documentary materials stored in the archive’s archives, emphasizing their historical and cultural significance. The schoolchildren were also shown the documentary film «Liberation», prepared by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents as part of the «Open Film Archive» project.

During the tour of the archive, the students visited the laboratory for restoration, binding, and repair of documents, as well as the archive storage, where they received information about the storage conditions, composition, and content of documents stored in the State Archive of the Grodno Region.
