Conducting lessons for students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.6 named after G.A.Gornovykh of Grodno» as part of the «Archives for School» campaign at the «State Archives of the Grodno Region» institution

On March 27, 2025, as part of the «Archives for School» campaign, the «State Archives of the Grodno Region» institution conducted 2 lessons on the topic «The Role of Archives in Preserving Historical Heritage» for 6th-grade students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.6 named after G.A.Gornovykh of Grodno».

Archive employees told the students about the history of the archive, its structure and main areas of activity. The most interesting and valuable documents stored in the archive were presented to the students. During the lesson, the children got acquainted with the exhibitions of documents on the events of the Great Patriotic War, exhibited in the reading room, as well as with collections of documentary materials prepared with the participation of the State Archives of the Grodno Region.

A screening of the documentary film «Liberation» prepared by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents as part of the «Open Film Archive» project was organized for schoolchildren.

During the excursion to the archive, the students visited the archive storage, as well as the laboratory for restoration, binding and repair of documents.
