An event was held in the institution «State Archives of Public Associations of the Gomel Region» as part of the campaign «Archives for School»
On March 25, 2025, as part of the campaign «Archives for School» on the basis of the institution «State Archives of Public Associations of the Gomel Region», a meeting of archive employees with students of the state educational institution «Brilyovskaya Secondary School» was held.
A documentary film «Liberation» was shown for schoolchildren, prepared by the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents», dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.
The students also had the opportunity to get acquainted with documents that reveal the essence, nature and consequences of the occupation regime and testify to the damage caused by the Nazi invaders during the Great Patriotic War.
As part of the event, the children were introduced to career guidance material. The students were provided with information about the conditions for admission to the history department of the Belarusian State University, the benefits of studying, the prospects for employment of graduates of the department, and also focused on the opportunities and advantages of obtaining an education on the terms of targeted training at the history department.
In conclusion, a tour of the archive was conducted, during which the children got acquainted with the main areas of its work and the current exhibitions of archival documents.
