Dive into history and understand the scale of the tragedy: on the eve of Khatyn Remembrance Day, an archivist of the Zonal State Archives in Molodechno organized a memory lesson for students
On the eve of Khatyn Remembrance Day, Olga Berezovskaya, an archivist of the Zonal State Archives in Molodechno, organized a memory lesson for students of Secondary School No.12 in the city Molodechno. The event was held as part of the republican campaign «Archives for School», the purpose of which is to deepen students’ knowledge of the country’s historical heritage through archival records and to strengthen the patriotic spirit.
The lesson was dedicated to the tragic fate of the burned villages in the Molodechno District during the Great Patriotic War. The presentation was based on archival documents stored in the Zonal State Archives. They allow you to dive into history and understand the scale of the tragedy that befell the civilian population.
— This format of the event not only helps to increase historical knowledge among schoolchildren, but also to cultivate respect for the memory of ancestors who suffered during the war. By focusing on specific examples from local history, we help to form an emotional connection between students and the past of their native land, — Olga Nikolaevna noted.
Such events are a strong impetus for developing a sense of patriotism among young people and an awareness of the importance of preserving peace.
— The role of archives in such initiatives cannot be overestimated. They become repositories of collective memory, providing access to invaluable data, documents and evidence. Thanks to the work of archivists, these events remind us of the importance of historical heritage and its impact on modern times, — shared his opinion the head of military-patriotic education at Secondary School No.12 in Molodechno Nikolay Minets.
The memory of the burned villages and their inhabitants becomes a link between generations, passing on tragic lessons that we must not forget and not allow.
