BGAMLI at the exhibition «To the Caucasus… Alexander Rubets. Painting»

On February 28, 2025, the director of the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BGAMLI) E.A.Makarenko took part in the grand opening of the exhibition «To the Caucasus… Alexander Rubets. Painting», organized by the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus.

Alexander Rubets is a Russian artist of Belarusian origin, a representative of the Russian and Soviet school of the late 1960s – 1970s, works in the genres of landscape, still life and portrait. Since 2013 – Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts, since 2023 – Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts. He was awarded gold and silver medals of the Russian Academy of Arts, the Shuvalov medal of the Russian Academy of Arts, the medal «For Services to the Academy of the Russian Academy of Arts». The works of Alexander Rubets are in more than twenty art museums of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus.

In total, the exhibition presents more than 50 paintings, landscapes and still lifes painted by the artist over the past 12 years.

The works of Alexander Rubets embody his vision of the world, the desire to convey the resilience and grandeur of the nature of the Caucasus. The artist managed to create his own pictorial space, existing in a special dimension, where color, form and feeling reign.

The exhibition «To the Caucasus… Alexander Rubets. Painting» will be exhibited from February 28 to April 13, 2025 in the main building of the National Art Museum.
