Campaign «Archives for School» in the institution «State Archives of Public Associations of the Gomel Region»

On February 27, 2025, as part of the republican campaign «Archives for School» on the basis of the institution «State Archives of Public Associations of the Gomel Region», a lesson-excursion was held for students of the educational institution «Gomel State Machine-Building College».

The students were presented with the memories of veterans of the Great Patriotic War who participated in the defense of Gomel, personal files of the participants of the Gomel People’s Militia Regiment, as well as documents testifying to the damage caused by the Nazi invaders during the Great Patriotic War.

During the meeting, a film screening prepared by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents was organized for the students, as well as a visit to the exhibition of archival documents and photographs «Heroes of the Great Victory», which is exhibited in the reading room of the state archive.

In conclusion, the children were given a tour of the archive storage facility, during which they learned about the main areas of work of the archive.
