On February 21, 2025, a solemn ceremony of laying wreaths and flowers at the memorial complex in honor of Soviet soldiers, partisans and underground fighters of the Vitebsk region was held on Victory Square in Vitebsk, dedicated to the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus

Day of Defenders of the Fatherland and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus is a holiday on which we honor representatives of the domestic Armed Forces and other security agencies that ensure the security of our country, pay tribute to the memory of the fallen soldiers who defended the borders of our republic at different times.

Today’s servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus sacredly preserve the military traditions of our fathers and grandfathers. They are worthy of their predecessors and reliably stand guard over the Motherland.

The ceremony of laying wreaths and flowers at the monument to Soviet soldiers, partisans and underground fighters on Victory Square, which took place in Vitebsk on February 21, 2025, was attended by the heads of the region and the city, representatives of work collectives, educational institutions, public organizations. Among them were employees of the State Archives of the Vitebsk Region.
