BGAMLI at the presentation of the tablet exhibition «For the Glory of the Motherland, in the Name of Victory»


On February 18, 2025, the Art Gallery «University of Culture» hosted the grand opening of the tablet exhibition «For the Glory of the Motherland, in the Name of Victory», dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, which was the result of fruitful cooperation between the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts (hereinafter referred to as BSUCA), Tambov State University (hereinafter referred to as TSU) named after G.R.Derzhavin and the republican archival institutions of Belarus (the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents (hereinafter referred to as BGAKFFD), the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BGAMLI), the Belarusian State Scientific and Technical Archive). The tablet exhibition is held within the framework of the «Week of TSU named after G.R.Derzhavin in the Republic of Belarus».

The event was attended by the deputy head of the administration of the Leninsky district of Minsk G.V.Chernik, the management of BSUKI, TSU named after G.R. Derzhavin, the directors of BGAMLI, BGAKFFD and BGANTD, as well as cultural and art figures, students and teachers of the university.

The tablet exhibition «For the glory of the Motherland, for the sake of Victory» is a series of informative banners dedicated to the military and working days of those who defended the Motherland during the Great Patriotic War, the contribution of the multinational people of the USSR to the common Victory over fascism.

During the presentation, Associate Professor of the Department of Historical and Cultural Heritage, Candidate of Historical Sciences of BSUKI E.Ya.Pavlova shared details of the preparation of the project in Belarus. Presented banners prepared by the Belarusian side about the partisan and underground movement in the occupied territory of Belarus, the contribution of cultural and artistic figures of the BSSR to the Victory over Nazi Germany, monuments and memorial complexes reflecting the events of 1941-1944. A significant element of the exposition were archival documents and photographs provided by the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art.

In turn, the scientific director of the Institute of Education and Social Sciences of the G.R.Derzhavin TSU, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor V.V.Romanov spoke about the unique documents of the exhibition, which reflect the contribution of the Tambov region to the fight against fascism.

Holding this exhibition in the Republic of Belarus in 2025 is of particular importance in connection with the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the Year of Peace and Unity in the Fight against Nazism in the CIS. The organizers expressed gratitude to all institutions for their support and provided materials, emphasizing their invaluable contribution to the success of the project.

The exhibition will continue to run at the University of Culture Art Gallery until February 25, 2025. We are confident that it will become a bright event in the cultural life of both cities and will serve to strengthen creative ties between Belarus and Russia.
