Employees of the State Archives of the Grodno Region took part in a requiem meeting dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of Internationalist Soldiers

On February 15, a requiem meeting dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of Internationalist Soldiers was held in the city square on Kurchatov Street near the memorial to internationalist soldiers. Afghan veterans, relatives and friends of fallen soldiers, government officials, military personnel and concerned Grodno residents gathered at the monument. Employees of the State Archives of the Grodno Region also honored the memory of the fallen soldiers with a minute of silence.

Events dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of Internationalist Soldiers are held annually. This shows that the memory of the heroes who accomplished the feat is alive and remains unforgettable from generation to generation.

On February 14, a staff meeting was held at the archive, where an employee of the archive, a veteran of military operations in other countries, a member of the public association «Belarusian Union of Veterans of the War in Afghanistan» Genyush Svyatoslav Mikhailovich spoke. He shared his difficult memories of the events in Afghanistan, wished the entire staff a peaceful sky and calm.
