On February 13, 2025, employees of the «Zonal State Archive in Slutsk» visited the «Echo of the Fiery Mountains» exhibition dedicated to internationalist soldiers and the events of the Afghan war
On the eve of the Day of Remembrance of Internationalist Soldiers, a meeting was held in the Slutsk Museum of Local History between participants in the military operations in Afghanistan, internationalist soldiers, retired Major Valery Sharupich, retired Captain Vladimir Kutas with school students and archive employees. The internationalist soldiers spoke about the events that took place during their service in Afghanistan as part of the 40th Army, explained the meaning of the military oath, remembered their comrades who died in battle, and answered the children’s questions.
Museum researcher Vasily Tishkevich gave a tour of the exhibition «Echo of the Fiery Mountains» dedicated to internationalist soldiers and the events of the Afghan war. He spoke about the residents of Slutsk, who died while performing their military duty in Afghanistan from 1979 to 1989.
