The Zonal State Archives in Novogrudok continues the Archives-to-School campaign

On February 13, 2025, as part of the republican campaign Archives-to-School, a lesson on «Novogrudok Region During the War Years» was held for 9th-grade students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.4 in Novogrudok».

The director of the state archives, A.S.Zabelinskaya, told the schoolchildren about the tragic page of the Novogrudok region during the war period: the beginning of the Great Patriotic War and the occupation of the city, the «Novogrudok cauldron», the situation of the population in the occupied territory, the organization of the partisan movement, the genocide of civilians, the heroic struggle against the Nazi invaders and the long-awaited liberation. The lesson was accompanied by a demonstration of archival documents from the exhibition «We stood firm and won», and the children showed their vision of the war with the help of prepared drawings and posters.

The meeting ended with a screening of a newsreel about the liberation of Grodno, prepared by the Belarusian State Film, Photo, and Sound Documentation Archive.
