Excursion for 10th-grade students of Brest Secondary School No.14 to the State Archives of the Brest Region

On December 26, 2024, as part of the «Archives for School» campaign, 10th-grade students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.14 named after E.M.Fomin in Brest» visited the State Archives of the Brest Region.

Employees of the Department for the Use and Publication of Documents introduced the children to the history of the State Archives of the Brest Region, talked about the composition of the archive’s documents, including those on the history of the Great Patriotic War. During the lecture, the children were shown the film «On the 80th Anniversary of the Liberation of Brest from the Nazi Invaders», prepared by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents.

The students were also introduced to the information material «Developing Belarus. United Belarus», prepared by the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus.

The schoolchildren were given a tour of the archive with a visit to the archive storage and the laboratory for repair and restoration of archival documents.
