BGAMLI at the opening of the exhibition «Winter Wonders» by Viktor Barabantsev in the National Library of Belarus

On December 11, employees of the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BGAMLI) visited the National Library of Belarus, where the opening of the exhibition of the artist, Honored Artist of Belarus Viktor Barabantsev entitled «Winter Wonders» took place.

Viktor Kirillovich traveled with an easel all over the country, and with exhibitions – almost half the globe. If you collect all the paintings, you can make the most detailed portrait of our Motherland. And the author passed every stroke, every brushstroke through a heart filled with sincere love for his native land, interest in the historical past of Belarus and the cultural traditions of our people.

The exhibition «Winter Wonders» presents more than twenty paintings, each of which immerses the viewer in the magical world of winter holidays. The main theme of the works is Christmas festivities, which reflect folk traditions and customs. The works of Viktor Kirillovich are in the collections of the National Art Museum of the Republic in the funds of the Belarusian Union of Artists, the Museum of Modern Fine Arts in Minsk, the M. Bogdanovich Literary Museum, etc.

During the meeting of Natalia Marchuk with Viktor Barabantsev, an agreement was reached on including him in the list of citizens (literary and artistic figures) – sources of staffing of the BGAMLI – and replenishing the National Archival Fund of the Republic of Belarus with his documents.
