Scientific local history conference «Babruisk region in the past»

On November 21, a scientific local history conference «Babruisk region in the past» was held in Bobruisk. The conference was attended by the director of the institution «Zonal state archive in Bobruisk» Elena Zayats, employees of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, museums, local historians, journalists, students. The conference participants heard reports on the history and culture of Bobruisk region, from the Bronze Age to the mid-20th century. Local historians got acquainted with new scientific research on the history of the region, shared their experience of local history research.

After her speech, Elena Dmitrievna Zayats handed over to the museum fund a photocopy of the minutes of the meeting of the executive committee of the Bobruisk regional council of workers’ deputies from 08.04.1945, which considered issue No.236 «On the restoration of the Bobruisk historical museum», which was discovered by the archive workers as a result of research work.
