Getting to Know the Archives as Part of the «Archives for School» Campaign

As part of the «Archives for School» campaign, the Zonal State Archives in Novogrudok were visited by 3rd-grade students of the V.G.Gakhovich Secondary School No.3 in Novogrudok, for whom the meeting with the archival institution took place for the first time.

The schoolchildren got acquainted with the history, activities of the state archive, the composition of the stored documents and their chronological framework, and the profession of an archivist. In the reading room, the students were shown the earliest archival documents on the history of Novogrudok, old newspaper files, which allowed them to see with their own eyes the rich documentary heritage of the region and think about the importance of preserving it. The children were shown the videos «Minsk – a Hero City», «The First Miles of War», «Childhood under Protection», prepared by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents.
