Excursion for students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.17 of Mogilev» to the institution «State Archives of the Mogilev Region»

As part of the «Archives for School» campaign, on November 4, 2024, the institution «State Archives of the Mogilev Region» was visited by 8th-grade students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.17 of Mogilev».

During the excursion, the children got acquainted with the banner exhibition «Again, let’s look closer to the past», which is dedicated to events from the history of the city of Mogilev during the Great Patriotic War and the restoration of the city in the post-war period.

The guests were most interested in information about memorials and military burials in the Mogilev region, as well as archival documents on the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War.

After the excursion, the students were shown the film «Liberation» in the reading room of the archive. It was prepared by the staff of the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents» (Dzerzhinsk) as part of the project «Open Film Archive. We Brought This Day Closer as We Could», dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.
