Round table for Minsk history teachers

On October 31, 2024, as part of the «Archives for School» campaign, a round table for Minsk history teachers was held at the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus (hereinafter referred to as NARB) on the topic: «Archival search as a tool for educational research. Based on documents on the history of the Great Patriotic War».

The director of the NARB, A.K.Demyanyuk, addressed the participants of the event with a welcoming speech. He spoke about the «Archives for School» campaign and the main areas of interaction between the archive and educational institutions.

The participants of the round table were shown newsreels about the partisan movement from the funds of the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents.

The deputy director of the NARB, PhD in History S.V.Kulinok spoke about the archive’s funds on the history of the Great Patriotic War: the composition of the documents, their information content and scientific potential. The forum participants were also told about the system of the scientific reference apparatus of the archive, publicly available databases «Partisans of Belarus» and «Belarusian villages burned during the Great Patriotic War».

The event continued with a tour of the archive storage and a display of the banner exhibition «Republic-partisan».

In conclusion, S.V.Kulinok answered the teachers’ questions.
