On conducting a sightseeing tour for students of grades 10-11 of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No. 1 of Mogilev» at the institution «State Archives of Public Associations of the Mogilev Region»

As part of the republican campaign «Archives for School» and the pilot project «Young Archivist», on October 25, 2024, an excursion for students of grades 10-11 of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No. 1 of Mogilev» was held at the institution «State Archives of Public Associations of the Mogilev Region».

Employees of the Document Use Department Shevchik T.V. and Bryuzgina S.N. told the history of the archive and archival affairs, acquainted the children with thematic exhibitions prepared on the basis of documents and materials of the archive: «Defense of Mogilev», «Partisan Memory», «Genocide of the Belarusian People during the Great Patriotic War», «80th Anniversary of the Liberation of the City of Mogilev».

The students watched documentaries: «Liberation of the City of Mogilev», «Reunification».

During the sightseeing tour, the schoolchildren visited the archive storage, during which the head of the department for the preservation of documents and funds Bartsuleva S.V. acquainted with the activities of the archive to preserve documents, with the composition of the stored documents, the mode of their storage.

At the end of the tour, the children happily mastered a short course in typing on a mechanical typewriter.
