An event was held in the State Archive of Public Associations of the Gomel Region as part of the republican campaign «Archives for School»

On October 16, 2024, employees of the institution «State Archive of Public Associations of the Gomel Region» held an event for the 106th anniversary of the founding of the Komsomol with students of the state educational institution «Secondary School No.67 of Gomel».

During the meeting, the schoolchildren took a unique journey through the pages of the history of the youth communist organization.

The children were told about the main stages of the development of the youth organization, about the heroic merits of Komsomol members during the Great Patriotic War, their labor exploits on virgin lands and at shock construction sites, and they were also shown a short documentary about the history of the Komsomol.

The children also had the opportunity to get acquainted with photographs from the Komsomol life of Gomel residents and other interesting documents that are stored in the state archive.

In conclusion, the schoolchildren were shown the documentary film «Liberation», prepared by the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents», dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, and a sightseeing tour of the archive was held.
