On September 30, 2024, the institution «State Archives of the Mogilev Region» (hereinafter – GAMog) was visited by Leonid Molchanov, the son of the Mogilev poetess and former archivist Inessa Antonovna Molchanova. During the meeting with the director of the archive Svetlana Sharaeva and the deputy director and chief custodian of the funds Lyudmila Tsalabanova, the archive was given a book of poems by Inessa Antonovna «Bird Years».
I.A. Molchanova was born on March 29, 1938 in Mogilev. She graduated from the Šiauliai Pedagogical Institute. In GAMog, she went from being an archivist to the head of the department for ensuring the safety of documents and funds. During her time at the archive, she put a lot of work into recording and preserving documents, and was involved in maintaining the scientific reference library. When the archive moved to a new building in 1986, she supervised the transfer of documents to the archive storage facilities. In 1988, she was awarded a certificate from the Main Archival Administration under the Council of Ministers of the BSSR.
The book includes poems from Inessa Antonovna’s diaries, describing nature and the seasons. On the pages, poetry alternates with fragments of paintings by her husband, artist Nikolai Vasilyevich Molchanov.
The archive staff wishes Inessa Antonovna long life, health, creative ideas and their successful implementation!
